About My Practice

I work with clients across Ontario to develop practical skills for managing anxiety, depression, workplace stress, and life transitions. My training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and complementary approaches allows me to tailor treatment to each person's unique needs and goals.

Why I Practice the Way I Do

I gravitated toward Acceptance and Commitment Therapy because it's both practical and deeply theoretical. ACT offers real tools people can use immediately (grounding techniques for panic, defusion strategies for racing thoughts, values clarification when feeling stuck) while also providing a coherent framework for understanding how we relate to our internal experiences.

What drew me to this approach initially was how well it aligned with my own experience of the world. That personal connection helps me teach ACT concepts authentically rather than as abstract clinical techniques. When working with a client through acceptance exercises or values work, I'm sharing tools that genuinely make sense rather than just applying a protocol.

I also integrate Compassion Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems approaches depending on what each client needs. Every person is different, and rigid adherence to one model doesn't serve anyone well.

Clinical Experience

Since beginning practice in 2021, I've worked with professionals facing workplace burnout, students navigating academic pressure, and individuals working through major life transitions. My clinical work includes providing psychotherapy to diverse populations using evidence-based approaches, with particular focus on anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma-focused interventions.

I frequently work with professionals experiencing imposter syndrome, individuals navigating relationship challenges, and people managing the complexities of modern work stress. My research background in social anxiety disorder (MPsy thesis) informs my clinical approach to anxiety-related concerns, combining academic understanding with practical, compassionate support.

Whether you're dealing with anxiety that won't quiet down, depression that makes everything feel flat, or life transitions that have left you feeling unmoored, the common thread in effective therapy is developing psychological flexibility: the ability to stay present with difficult experiences while taking action toward what matters to you.

My Therapeutic Approach

I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - two evidence-based approaches that focus on building practical skills rather than endless analysis.

Why ACT & CBT?

These approaches work because they're action-oriented. Instead of trying to eliminate difficult thoughts and feelings (which often doesn't work), we focus on developing psychological flexibility - the ability to stay present with discomfort while taking action toward what matters to you.

You'll leave sessions with concrete tools you can use immediately, not just insights to think about.

What Makes My Approach Different

I practice from an integrative, client-centered foundation. While I have deep training in specific modalities like ACT, CBT, CFT, EFT, and IFS, I don't force clients into a predetermined treatment protocol. Instead, we collaboratively identify what's working and what isn't, then adapt our approach accordingly.

Sessions typically balance active listening with skill-building. We work on concrete techniques you can use when anxiety hits at 3am or when you're stuck in a difficult conversation, while also making space for genuine exploration of what's beneath the surface symptoms.

My background in crisis intervention and mindfulness practices allows me to adapt quickly to what each session needs. The approach serves the person, not the other way around.
